In 2025, Apple plans to update the iPad Air. So far, we don’t know exactly what to expect from the new tablet, but several rumors are already out there. In this article, we have collected everything that is known from the iPad Air 2025.

Design
Apple updated the design of the iPad-Air in 2024, releasing two size options, like the iPad Pro models. An 11-inch and 13-inch model should also be released in 2025, but there are no data on design changes yet.

The iPad Air 2025 will have the same design as this year’s models, with an aluminum frame, flat edges, and rounded corners around the LCD display. The tablet will still have a power button with a Touch ID scanner for biometric authentication and a USB-C connector.
Even if the design of the model does not change, Apple may release new colors. The current iPad-Air is available in gray, purple, blue, and white.
A-series processor
Although Apple has already used the M4 processor for the iPad Pro, the new iPad-Air should have an M3 processor instead of the current M2.

The M3 processor is based on Apple’s new 3nm process technology. It’s not as fast as the M4 processor, but it’s still much faster than the M2 chip. The M3’s CPU performance is 30% higher than the M2’s, while the GPU’s performance is 15% higher. The M3 chip is also more economical in terms of operating time. In addition, it has an updated GPU for improved graphics in games and apps. There is also support for hardware ray tracing for games.
If you believe the rumors, the new iPad-Air will have an M3 processor instead of the newer M4, like the iPad Pro models. Thus, Apple wants to keep the distinction between the two models.
Apple Intelligence
Current iPad Air models with M2 processor support Apple Intelligence features in iPadOS 18. New models with the M3 chip will also support Apple Intelligence.
Display
The main difference between the iPad Pro model and the iPad Air is the OLED display with support for 120 Hz ProMotion technology. In 2025, the iPad Air display should not change. It is unlikely that Apple will add ProMotion technology to the iPad Air.
Other features
Apple has added Wi-Fi 7 support to new iPhone models, so it can add the protocol to its other devices as well. The Wi-Fi 7 standard offers faster speeds and less interference. If Wi-Fi 7 technology doesn’t appear on the new iPad Air, it will still have Wi-Fi 6E support.
Magic Keyboard
Apple is working on a new version of the Magic Keyboard for the iPad Air, and it should come out with the new tablet. It will not have an aluminum case, like the keyboard for the iPad Pro, but it may have a functional row of keys.
Release Date
According to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, the next-generation iPad Air should be released “early next year.”
