Insiders Reveal Details About Samsung Galaxy S25 Series: What We Know

Many rumors have already emerged, including information about the number of smartphones in the series, new features, design, and release dates.

Samsung is preparing a new series of Galaxy S25 smartphones, and insiders are already revealing some interesting details. The lineup is expected to launch in early 2025, most likely between January and March. This information is based on the company’s tradition of regularly introducing its new products at the beginning of the year. In particular, leaks from reliable sources indicate that the announcement may take place in late January.

Galaxy S25 Models

The smartphone lineup is expected to consist of four main models: the standard Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, Galaxy S25 Ultra, and Galaxy S25 Slim. Each will have its unique characteristics, but all models will use the same Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, ensuring high performance.

Additionally, there are rumors about possible name changes: Galaxy S25 Ultra might become Galaxy S25 Note, emphasizing its focus on multifunctionality and enhanced user experience. Similarly, Galaxy S25 Plus might be renamed to S25 Pro, reflecting its advanced features compared to the standard model. Such changes could help users better navigate Samsung’s new lineup and choose the appropriate device.

In recent weeks, rumors have also emerged about a new model — Galaxy S25 Slim. This version might offer users a more compact and lightweight flagship variant, aligning with current market trends. The device is expected to have smaller dimensions and possibly some simplified features compared to other flagship models. Rumors suggest that the Slim version might be introduced in mid-2025, after the release of the main models.

Design

According to preliminary data, the Galaxy S25’s appearance will undergo some changes that may attract users’ attention. Samsung has assigned the development to a specialist who previously worked at Mercedes-Benz. This suggests that the device might receive a more modern and elegant design that emphasizes its premium class status.

Image and render leaks show that the Galaxy S25 Ultra might retain the general design of previous models but with some nuances. For example, flatter edges and slightly rounded corners are expected, making it more comfortable to hold. The device dimensions may also change. The smartphone will be slightly taller and narrower than its predecessor, with dimensions of approximately 162.82×77.65×8.25 mm.

Moreover, changes in camera placement are expected. Leaks show that cameras might be framed with rings, which will not only improve aesthetic appearance but also protect the lenses from damage. Thinner side frames around the display are also reported, allowing for increased screen area without significantly increasing the device size.

Cameras

According to preliminary data, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to feature a 200-megapixel main camera, continuing the high-resolution trend. However, unlike rumors about a radical system overhaul, recent leaks indicate that the sensor will remain the same but with improvements in its capabilities.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra will get a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 50-megapixel periscope telezoom, providing better quality shots even when zooming. Additionally, the Ultra is expected to retain its 10-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x zoom. It’s important to note that improvements will affect not only the sensors themselves but also the software, providing better photo quality in low light and more accurate color reproduction.

For the standard model, as well as Plus and Slim versions, cameras are expected to be similar but with lower resolution. For example, they might get a 50-megapixel main camera and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide. This will provide decent photo quality for users who don’t need maximum resolution.

Processors

One of the main performance aspects of the Galaxy S25 will be the use of the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. This chip is expected to provide significant improvements in speed and energy efficiency compared to its predecessor. The Snapdragon 8 Elite can reach clock speeds of up to 4 GHz, allowing devices to process data faster and improve performance in games and resource-intensive applications.

Additionally, Samsung might return to using Exynos processors in some regions, although more recent rumors suggest that the Galaxy S25 will be equipped only with Snapdragon, eliminating performance differences between models.

Memory

The Galaxy S25 will offer users significant improvements in RAM and storage. The base Galaxy S25 model and Plus version will likely be equipped with 12GB of RAM, providing excellent multitasking and smooth operation when running multiple applications simultaneously. This will be a notable improvement compared to previous models, which typically offered 8GB.

Regarding storage, the Galaxy S25 might have several options, including 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. S25 Ultra models will get up to 1TB of built-in storage. Samsung also plans to implement new storage technologies, such as UFS 4.0, which will provide higher read and write speeds compared to previous versions.

Software

The Galaxy S25 will run on an updated version of Samsung’s user interface — One UI 7. This version promises many new features and improvements that will make device interaction more convenient and intuitive. Major changes may include a redesigned interface, enhanced customization features, and new notification management tools.

One of the expected features is enhanced widget support, allowing more flexible customization of the home screen. Improvements to multimedia functions are also expected, including new photo and video editing capabilities. Special attention in One UI 7 is paid to security and privacy. Users will get more control over their data, including new settings for managing app permissions.

The Galaxy S25 will also implement the seamless update concept. This feature, first introduced in Android, allows updating the operating system and applications in the background without interrupting device operation. This means users can continue using their smartphones during this process.

AI Features

Samsung is actively implementing artificial intelligence technologies in its smartphones, and the Galaxy S25 will be no exception. One of the main areas of AI application will be image processing. The smart system will be able to automatically analyze scenes and adjust camera parameters to achieve the best photo quality. For example, it will detect lighting, recognize objects, and adjust white balance, contrast, and exposure.

AI will also be used to optimize device performance. The smartphone will be able to analyze user behavior and adapt resources depending on which apps and features are used most frequently. This will allow the Galaxy S25 to operate more smoothly and efficiently, extending battery life.

The Galaxy S25 will likely be integrated with improved voice assistants, such as Bixby. Neural networks will help improve speech recognition and request understanding, making interaction with the assistant more natural and efficient. Users will be able to control the device using voice commands without touching the screen.

This is not all the information about Samsung devices that has leaked recently. Previously, the brand’s most affordable flip phone, a cheap 5G device, and a thin version of the Z Fold 6 were also spotted.
