South Korean tech giant Samsung has announced a new budget smartphone Galaxy A16 5G. The device has received a number of significant improvements over its predecessor, including an enlarged 6.7-inch display and unprecedented software support for devices of this class – 6 years of Android version updates and 6 years of security updates.

Galaxy A16 5G Specifications
The Galaxy A16 5G will be powered by the Exynos 1330 processor in European countries, while other markets such as India and Thailand are expected to use the Dimensity 6300 chipset. The smartphone is equipped with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory with expandable microSD cards up to 1.5 TB.

The device received a Super AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. The front-facing 13-megapixel camera is located in a teardrop notch, while the main camera includes a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 5-megapixel ultra-wide-angle module and a 2-megapixel macro lens.
The Galaxy A16 5G runs on the Android 14 operating system with a proprietary One UI 6.1 interface. The device is IP54 water and dust proof and features a 5000 mAh battery with 25W fast charging support. The fingerprint scanner is combined with the power button on the side of the case.
The smartphone will be available in three color options: dark blue, turquoise and gray. The cost of the Galaxy A16 5G in the 4/128 GB configuration is 249 euros (approximately 26,000 rubles). Sales are expected to start soon.
